Thanks to their high protein content, eggs can be reduce appetite when eaten with breakfast to give weight loss a serious boost. Eggs are nutritionally truly multi-talented and form the ideal basis for a satiating low carb breakfast – in all variations: as omelettes, fried or scrambled eggs, poached or (hard) cooked. Eggs can also be combined with all kinds of low-carbohydrate ingredients.
Pimp scrambled eggs & Co. simply with ham, various cheeses, herbs or of course all kinds of vegetables and mushrooms, e.g. mushrooms, tomato or pepper cubes. Sweet recipes for low carb breakfast
If you are more of a sweet breakfast or are looking for a low-carb breakfast recipe without an egg, you can easily put together your own personal low-carb muesli in the morning. You can use protein suppliers such as skimmed curd cheese, buttermilk, natural yoghurt, cottage cheese or Greek yoghurt as a basis, which you mix with soy flakes, nuts, chia or linseed or coconut flakes. If you like, you can now add low fructose fruit varieties such as berries of all kinds. Sugar alternatives such as xylitol (a sweet-tasting crystalline alcohol derived from xylose, present in some plant tissues and used as an artificial sweetener in foods) or erythritol (a sweet substance extracted from certain lichens and algae. It is used medicinally as a vasodilator) are suitable for sweetening.
Also delicious: low carb pancakes. Unhealthy ingredients such as sugar and flour are replaced here by low-carbohydrate alternatives and make the pancakes a healthy low-carb breakfast.
Low-carbohydrate breakfast to go
You don’t have time for breakfast in the morning or just don’t have an appetite yet? Green smoothies are a great solution. Prepare them the evening before or enjoy the smoothie on the way to work.
Your smoothie should consist mainly of green vegetables such as spinach, cucumber or kale. The green stuff is full of secondary plant and bitter substances. Bananas, grapes and other fructose-rich fruits should be used sparingly. Half an apple or a few berries add a little sweetness – but not too many carbs.
Bread is allowed at low carb breakfast in moderation
Without bread, you’re missing something at breakfast? Not bad, because as part of the low-carb diet, your breakfast – unlike lunch or dinner – may quietly provide a few healthy, long-chain carbohydrates. These go more slowly into the blood and supply you with energy throughout the day, which prevents ravenous appetite. Means: Wholemeal bread in the morning is absolutely permitted with a Low carb nutrition in moderation. Cover it with turkey breast, cream cheese, avocado, cucumber or tomato.
