for Teens; how do you make your room fun? The fantastic and beautiful light switches give you interesting ideas. I will give instructions on how to do it. Living in a place that you love, surrounded with things that you love can make such a big difference in your motivation and happiness. So make something beautiful!!

Please be careful,my mother when i asked him if i could decorate my light switch cover he said only stickers because glitter and especially fabric can get down into the electrical wires and stuff and start a fire.

Warning
Working with electricity is very dangerous. Be extremely careful and, if you have any doubts, contact a professional.

Cut the power
Cut the power to the light switch by flipping the circuit breaker or removing the fuse at the main panel.

Tip
Make sure the power is off by flipping the light switch.

Remove the plate
Unscrew and remove the light switch cover plate.

Step 1:

For this DIY you don’t need many supplies, and if your in a crafty home already, you’ll must likely have all of these things already!

– A light switch plate
– Glue, any type of runny glue will work
– 3 different colors of glitter
– A plastic knife
– Paper or Newspaper
– Funnel (Optional. Only for if you have trouble getting glitter back in original container!)

Step 2:
Next, take some glue and spread it generously onto a little section of the light switch plate. Don’t put on too much glue, or else it will be a ginormous mess! On the same token though, don’t put on too little, or else the glitter wont be able to stick nicely to the plate. You only want to put on a little section at a time because then the glitter will be more organized and look ten times better!

Step 3:
After Step 2, immediately spread your first glitter color choice onto the little section. Make sure that all of the glue is covered up, and it’s spread all on the little section. After the glue is covered, shake or tap the light switch plate against a hard surface over a piece of paper to get off the excess glitter. Let it sit for a little while and when a little more dry, proceed to Step 4.

Step 4:
Repeat Step 2 and 3 again, but put the next little section right next to the first one, but be careful not to overlap the glue sections. Then, pour your second glitter color choice over the second glitter section. Just like the first one, make sure all the glue is covered with glitter and you tap the light switch plate against a hard surface to get all the excess glitter off. Also let this color sit for awhile to dry a bit. Repeat Step 2 and 3 until all of your light switch has been decorated.

Step 5:
Let your light switch plate dry over night just to be safe, and then the next morning, put it back over your light switches. Enjoy your beautiful light switch plate, and have fun making this cute decor item!
