Hello everybody! what are you doing right now? Eating, lie down, walking, on the way, at your work or at gym! OK not important where you are, you can do zumba every time, every where. just do it!
Zumba is the new fitness trend invented in the 1990 s by fitness trainer Alberto Perez. The story of Zumba begins with an accident that seems too good to be true. Back in the ’90s in Colombia, dancer and choreographer Alberto Perez was teaching an aerobics class and he forgot his regular music. So he reached into his backpack and pulled out tapes of salsa and merengue. Fast forward to today, and Zumba has certified instructors in more than 125 countries around the world. Each class uses salsa, cumbia, bachata, and other Latin and international rhythms. A joint-gentle calorie killer, which brings a lot of fun and is suitable for everyone. Zumba isn’t just a fitness craze, just for weight loss or dance; it’s an international business with more than 12 million enthusiasts (from amateur to professional) in its classes. For many students — who show up in spandex to body-roll, fist-pump and booty-shake — it’s their first taste of Latin music and dance steps. Now, some Latin dancers are trying to make more of a distinction between their art — and what happens in a Zumba class.
With this kind of fitness, fun and joy in movement are the main focus and the perfect execution of the individual movements is the most important thing. Zumba doesn’t work with counting bars, it clearly follows the flow of the music. Also the movements are not standardized like in aerobics.
The different movement elements and dance steps come mainly from the following styles: Cubia, Salsa, Meringue, Regggaeton, Mambo, Flamenco, Tango, Soca, Belly Dance, Hip-Hop, Samba, Cha-Cha-Cha and Bhangra. The dance steps are introduced into the Choegragphie and connected with the elements of Aerobic, such as lunge step, knee bend, etc., in order to increase stress level and training effect.
Zumba is a very demanding whole body workout and is particularly suitable for burning the body’s own fat. Each Zumba unit burns between 400 and 1000 kcal per hour.
There are seven different Zumba programmes which specialise in different target groups. These include Zumba Gold, Zumba Toning, Aqua Zumba, Zubatomic, Zumba in the Circuit, Zumba Gold Toning and Zumba Sentao. Each individual programme style explicitly takes into account the needs and constitution of the visitors.
As it improve and evolves, Zumba may be moving away from its Latin roots. The company has recently expanded to include more international rhythms from West Coast swing, belly dance and bhangra.
